Control sample

The GMO or its genetic material (positive sample) and the parental organism or its genetic material used for the purpose of genetic modification (negative sample).

Control system

System comprising the competent authorities and the resources, structures, arrangements, and procedures established in a Member State to ensure that official controls are performed in accordance with this Regulation and the rules referred to in Articles 18 to 27.

Descriptive name

A name that describes the food and, if applicable, its use, and that is sufficiently clear for consumers to determine its true nature and distinguish it from other products with which it could be confused.
