Unique identifier

A simple numeric or alphanumeric code used to identify a GMO based on the authorized transformation event by which it was developed and to enable the retrieval of specific data pertaining to that GMO.

Units in conversion

Production unit, during the conversion period referred to in Article 10 [of Regulation (EU) 2018/848, Editor's note], which is managed in accordance with the requirements applicable to organic production; it may consist of agricultural parcels or other resources for which the conversion period referred to in Article 10 begins at different times.

Unprocessed food

Food that has not undergone a treatment that has resulted in a substantial change from its initial state; in this regard, the following operations are not considered to result in a substantial change: dividing, separating, splitting, boning, mincing, skinning, peeling, peeling, crushing, cutting, cleaning, decorating, freezing, freezing, chilling, grinding, shelling, packaging, or unpacking.

Unprocessed foodstuffs, including products that have been divided, separated, cut, sliced, boned, minced, skinned, crushed, cut, cleaned, trimmed, peeled, ground, chilled, frozen, quick-frozen, or thawed.
