- Production cycle

The lifespan of an aquaculture animal or algae, from the very first stage of life (fertilized eggs in the case of aquaculture animals) to harvest.

- Production unit

All resources of a holding, including primary production premises, agricultural plots, pastures, open-air areas, livestock buildings or parts thereof, beehives, fish ponds, containment systems and installations for algae or aquaculture animals, farming units, coastal or seabed concessions, and premises used for the storage of plants, plant products, algae products, animal products, raw materials, and any other relevant inputs managed as described in points 10), 11), or 12) [of Regulation (EU) 2018/848, Editor's note].
